In 2011 guitarist Bob van Houten and singer Maaike Lans got together. By then, both of them had been in bands with a love for Jamaican music, such as Karmakonga and Rude Rich & the High Notes, for quite a while. They got into the studio to find out what their favorite Reggae-sound is, and after writing and recording the first songs, they formed Mighty Mama in 2012 and released their first album 'Relax'. In 2015 they underwent a drastic change in line-up, which is now as follows :

On 31 January 2017, Bob and Maaike disbanded Mighty Mama, so they could focus their energy on their other band, Peu De Feu.

Recorded at Bob's home studio, Purmerend, The Netherlands, 2010-2014. Drums and bass for track 6 and 10 were recorded by Studio Haring at Kars' drumbooth downstairs.
