The Blues Busters were a male duo from Jamaica who originally recorded reggae and ska records, and were quite successful doing so. In 1964 the duo, Phillip James and Lloyd Campbell, were invited to play at the world fair in New York by famous jamaican artist and band leader Byron Lee (of Byron Lee & The Dragonaires) . They also supported Sam Cooke on his jamaican tour, and were soon recording and performing soul music rather than reggae or ska. The Blues Brothers frequently went over to the U.S. to perform and record, and had several records out on a host of different labels.
